The people who solve it won't be the ones treating it as a job. They'll be the ones who would work on these problems anyway, and found a place that pays them to do it together.

Who We Hire
You'll Recognize Yourself
You build things nobody asked for. Side projects, rebuilt engines, code that solves a problem only you had. Proof of work matters more to us than proof of employment.
Hard problems pull you in. Reentry corridors one degree wide. Actuators that must lock in two seconds through the worst aerodynamic configuration of the flight. You read that and lean forward, not back.
You have vision, and the patience to earn it. You can see the world where this works, and you're willing to spend years of unglamorous engineering getting there. Dreamers who can't build and builders who can't dream both fail here.
You own outcomes, not tasks. When your system is on the vehicle, "not my part" doesn't exist. The vehicle either hits the mark or it doesn't.
The Honest Part
This Isn't for Everyone
We'd rather lose a candidate than mislead one. Astreia is a startup building flight hardware: the problems are unsolved, the pace is real, and the standard is set by physics, which does not negotiate. If you're optimizing for a comfortable title, a mature process to follow, or work that stays neatly at work, there are excellent companies for that. We're not one of them yet, and honestly, we hope we never fully become one.
What we promise instead: problems worth your best years, ownership from day one, and the moment when hardware you built leaves the atmosphere, or comes back through it.
How We Work
Small Teams. Full Ownership. Flight Data.
We operate the way the launch revolution was won: small teams moving fast, decisions made by the people closest to the hardware, and flight data over paperwork. Speed over ceremony. We publish our test campaigns as they happen, including the failures, because the failures are where the engineering actually lives, and engineers who hide failures don't learn from them.
You will be close to everything: the design, the test stand, the trade-offs, the customer, the launch. In a company this size, there is nowhere to hide, and nowhere better to grow.
Roles
Where You Fit
We hire across the full loop: vehicle engineering (aerothermodynamics, GN&C, structures, mechanisms, propulsion), manufacturing systems, mission software, and the business functions that get hardware to orbit (programs, supply chain, government affairs).
